Instant Pot Releasing Cooking Blender

The blender game has changed. Instant Pot has come up with it's next product that will get the Insta Cult bugging out (me included - don't get offended). The Instant Pot Ace Multi-Use Cooking and Beverage Blender. This sucka will cook while it blends. You heard me: cook.... and.... blend.

Soups on the fly? Yup! Scorching hot smoothies? Why not since you can!

Look for them in Walmarts across the country this week.

How much will they set you back? A humble $99. And you become an even bigger Insta Fan. Win win. I know what's going on your holiday wish list. Hooray for hot smooth things...

My Daughter Made Her School Lunch

My 9 year-old daughter Chloe just started making her own home lunch for school and she is so proud of it that she decided to do a time lapse of herself putting it together. It was too cute not to demand to be sent to me and share.

By the way in case you’re wondering what she chose: tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh mozzarella balls, peppers, shark gummies, and a Nutri-Grain bar. I love that she chose so many fresh veggies! One of my two little foodies!!!

6 Chefs Share Their Favorite 6 Ingredient Pasta Dish

Here's some easy cooking inspiration: 6 ingredient pasta dishes. Huffington Post rounded up 6 renowned chefs and got their favorite 6 ingredient pasta dish.
But first I'll take a stab at it. You'll need:
Spaghetti
White Rice
Butter
Chicken Bouillon
Salt & Pepper, to taste
  1. Break spaghetti into small pieces (1/2" each or so) - 3/4 cup
  2. Follow bouillon directions to make 2 cups of chicken broth - set aside
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a hot pan
  4. Add broken pasta and 3/4 cup of rice to pan - cook until pasta turns golden brown
  5. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil
  6. Lower heat to low and cover
  7. Cook 18-20 minutes, stirring occasionally
  8. Once the rice/pasta has absorbed the liquid and is cooked but not dry, turn it off
  9. Season with salt & pepper to taste
  10. BOOM!! Homemade Rice-a-Roni without any of the preservatives and ingredients you can't pronounce

Look What We Found In Our Garden Today

Hidden amongst the tomatoes was this guy. Covered in tubular rice-looking stuff that made us sad and gaggy at the same time.

So I posted it on Facebook with a WTF and I learned quite a bit:

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh...
My wife Kristin isn't a big fan of insects and I don't know if she'll ever go in our backyard again after that explanation. Hahaha.

We were nervous about the wasps biting and stinging us and our daughters... BUT... turns out the wasps are the GOOD guys and the poor caterpillar-worm-thing is the real villain here (and here's where this post being on a FOOD blog starts to make some sense):

So I guess I should be thankful for this whole experience?
I still won't sleep nightmare-free tonight and my wife may never drive again since her car is back there. But... thank you weird gross wasps? Gag. Thank you for saving the tomatoes.

Pizza Hutt in Taiwan is now serving fish sticks as a pizza topping. I'm guessing the only guy who's going to be happy about that idea is this guy:

But maybe you're psyched about it too soooooooo...
